Faith Focused Climate Cafes at COP26
Join the Climate Cafe Multifaith for two faith-focused COP26 Climate Cafes during COP this week. Climate Cafes are opportunities for everyday people as well as those who are involved in climate or COP to drop in for virtual friendship and conversation.
November 11th:
#2 Multifaith Pop-Up Cafe Thursday, November 11th at 11am Pacific Time (2pm Eastern Time / 6pm GMT)
This November 11th Climate Cafe will be hosted by the Climate Cafe Multifaith, a US based Cafe. Our co-host is William H. Morris who is attending COP26 with the Christian Climate Observers Program. We are looking forward to other voices, too, from folks attending in Scotland. This virtual Cafe welcomes people from all over the world who would like to come for a conversation around climate, faith, and COP26. Register.
Thank you to co-host Barak Gale and those who attended the Global Live Climate Cafe Sunday, November 7th at 11:00am Pacific Time / 2:00pm Eastern time (7pm GMT), hosted from Glasgow by the Climate Cafe Team. This Cafe was sponsored in part by the Climate Crisis Film Festival. Their featured 10 minute film for the evening is The Pleasure of Killing Bugs.
And also, Climate Cafes have partnered with The Climate Crisis Film Festival. You can view their many films during COP. These films were created all over the world. This film, The film, The Pleasure of Killing Bugs, deals with religion directly. It is 10 minutes, from Brazil, features a nun and priest, and asks the question 'Is this God's plan?' There are other films on the site, too, which can be viewed during COP.
COP26 and The Climate Cafes and their partners such as The Climate Reality Project are not faith organizations. Yet they have welcomed a broad coalition of involvement which has included people of faith.
Climate Cafes, supported by the Scottish government and partnering with The Climate Reality Project, The Climate Crisis Film Festival and others, are taking place every day at COP26. The schedule includes two Cafes with a focus especially for faith. For more events and faith-based links, check out our Cafe Multifaith virtual information sheet.
